We made the Florence for the part of a woman's wardrobe that gets the least attention and does the most work — the everyday dress. Something to reach for on a Tuesday morning without thinking about it. To wear to work, to lunch, to a school run, to a long dinner, to the airport. Not occasion wear. Not loungewear. The dress you put on when you want to look like yourself, only slightly better.

The Fabric.
100% cotton khadi, handwoven in India. One of the oldest continuous textile traditions in the country — yarn hand-spun, cloth hand-woven, no two metres exactly alike. Light enough for Indian summers, structured enough to hold its shape through a long day. The cloth softens with every wash. Colour deepens with wear.

The Colour.
Deep, considered black. Not a flat black, not a photo-shoot black — the black of good ink, of night sky, of cloth that reads black at any distance and holds its depth up close. Pairs with almost anything, or nothing at all.

The Cut.
Slim shoulder straps. Softly gathered at the waist for shape without constriction. A-line through the body, falling clean to the floor. Slit-free, sleeve-free, unbelted by default. Deep functional pockets on both sides — the kind that hold a phone, a wallet, or your hands. Wear it as it is, or layered under a jacket in winter.

Fit.
True to size, relaxed through the body. Length varies by size — see the size guide for exact measurements. If you need extra length, write to support@omaystudio.in and we can add up to an inch before dispatch.

Care.
Cold machine wash, gentle cycle. Line dry in shade. Iron on low heat. Khadi softens with every wash — the dress you buy today will feel different at year five. That's the point.
